We started trading at Borough Market in 2006 as The Veggie Table, our aim to create delicious vegetarian & vegan food made with local & seasonal ingredients.
We started at Broadway Market in Hackney in 2007 and Greenwich Market is our most recent addition in 2016.
We've traded at various other London markets, festivals and events over the years including The Big Chill, Thames Festival, Field Day, Real Food Festival, Slow Food Market and Art in Action Festival.
Early 2016 we went 100% vegan for the animals and the environment and rebranded as Big V London.
Our vegetables and herbs come from Ted's veg (Borough Market) from Ted's farm near Boston in Lincolnshire, where the produce is picked daily for its freshness and flavour, his crops are grown CHEMICAL FREE and when necessary his produce is sourced from the next best nearby location.
Our Quinoa is locally grown in Essex by Peter Fairs and our beans and pulses are locally grown and sourced from Hodmedods, Our custom made vegan brioche buns are baked by artisan bakers Paul Rhodes in Greenwich. We use organic ingredients where possible in all of our products. All our food is made from scratch, by us, no shortcuts, by our passionate Vegan team in our own kitchen in Bermondsey.
We like to support local producers in our local community ... and you obviously do too if you're shopping here!
At our market stalls we only use biodegradable packaging and keep it to a minimum, a slip of paper for our burgers and cardboard tubs for our salads and cutlery made from beets, we are doing all we can for the environment.
